Vietnamese Pot-Bellied Pig

Sassy…
- Arrived at our zoo in early 2016
- Was a few months old upon arrival
- Bought as a house pet, surrendered soon after, unsure of the circumstances
- Pigs are often abandoned after their "owners" find out that 1. they may not be zoned for livestock or 2. pigs can be over 100 lbs
- Sassy is very vocal at feeding time, no tardiness is accepted
- Favorite veggies: tomatoes, mushrooms, carrots, cucumbers, greens
- She loves helping her keeper change out her straw bedding
- Loves ducks, does not love peacocks
- Enjoys painting
- Very, very fussy, only allows a couple people in her inner circle, will chase everyone else
- Will flop and allow belly rubs
- No such thing as a teacup pig! All healthy potbelly pigs should weigh at least 80-150 lbs.
- Pigs are in the top five of intelligent animal species
- Pink pigs must be protected from the sun (mud wallows help with this)
- Can live in marshy wetlands and forests, open woodlands, or in a farm environment
