Meet the Ring Tailed Lemurs

Here we can see the Ring Tailed Lemur Exhibit, home to Nora and Clyde. Clyde arrived in November of 2011 from NJ Fish and Wildlife, as he was an illegal pet. He has been alone for 12 years. Clyde’s life changed for the better once Nora arrived. Nora arrived in March of 2023 from NJ Wildlife. She was also an illegal pet, and after a couple of months of introductions, the zoo allowed her and Clyde to enter the outdoor enclosure together. Nora is a super sweet girl and has had a positive effect on Clyde, and her favorite thing is Clyde. They are matriarchal species and are also sadly an endangered species. They eat fruit, flowers, and insects, love to sunbathe in a yoga-like posture, and have 13 black and white alternating stripes on their tails. They have strong scent glands that they use to communicate with other troop members, and they can live up to 30 years in a zoo or around 18 years in the wild.
