Meet the Harris Hawks

Here we can see the Harris Hawk Exhibit, home to Hensen and Lady Chase. The Harris hawks have been at the Cohanzick Zoo since January 2020. Harris Hawks are a medium-large bird of prey found in the Americas. This bird is notable for its behavior of hunting cooperatively in packs consisting of tolerant groups, while other raptors often hunt alone. Harris hawks' social nature has been attributed to their intelligence, which makes them easy to train and have made them a popular bird for use in falconry.
