Meet the Bennett’s Wallabies
Here we can see the Bennett’s Wallaby exhibit, home to Winston and Juno. Winston arrived on October 29th, 2020. He is an albino wallaby who spends most of his day sleeping or grazing on his food. Winston is joined by Juno who arrived to the zoo in August 2024
Bennett’s wallabies are also known as red-necked wallabies because the non-albino wallabies have a reddish tint to their fur. These wallabies tend to weigh up to 40 pounds, and they graze on grasses, vegetables, and herbs. They tend to be more active at night, and they are usually solitary, though they can be seen dining in large groups. Bennett’s Wallabies can be found in Australia, primarily in grasslands, shrublands, and eucalyptus forests.
